Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope (CFHT)
The Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) is located near the summit of Mauna Kea mountain on Hawaii’s Big Island at an altitude of 4000m, part of the Mauna Kea Observatory. The telescope is a Prime Focus/Cassegrain configuration with a usable aperture diameter of 3.58 metres.
GRANDMA obtained several times allocation for kilonova searches and GRB using MegaCam, a one square degree field high-resolution CCD mosaic of 40 CCDs totaling 378 megapixels (see for exemple Hussenot et al., MNRAS, 2024 GRB 230812B). In 2025, GRANDMA is proposing a survey using MEGCAM to complement the detection of fast transients of Vera Rubin.
