Tsinghua-NAOC Telescope

TNT is a telescope located at Xinglong Observatory (China) which was launched in 2004. The telescope, as a Cassegrain focusing system, is equipped with an 80 cm effective aperture and has FOV of 11.5′ × 11.2′. CCD installed on this telescope has size of 1340 × 1300 with pixel scale of 0.52”. Limiting R magnitude is about 18.67 and S/N can reach to 10 with exposure time of 300s.

TNT currently focuses on time domain astrophysics such as supernovae photometry, active Blazar moniter, afterglow of GRB detection. So far TNT has taken part in the GRANDMA project to search EM counterpart of GW during the LIGO/VIRGO O3 run.

Partners

TNT is funded by National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC) and Tsinghua University.
